Also would love to know why you made that decision. Ok, what I wanted to know is how many of you carry only a knife, only a MT and both. I also love to have a knife with me, so I will probably stick with knife+Shard to see if this works. I don't know if the scredrivers and pliers justify this extra weight. It is a bit bulky and heavy for my keychain, though. So I bought a Leatherman Juice CS4 and it's a nice tool too. I carry my stuff in my keychain, my knife is small and light, less than 10cm (about 3in). So, I was wondering if it was a good idea to change my knife for a multitool. The pliers are also a good tool (especially to work with wires). Sometimes I wish I had a multitool with me, often to use the screwdriver (flat and philips). However it is big and heavy to carry, since I don't like to carry anything in my belt/trousers (don't even use belt). Around the same time I bought a Leatherman Charge and it is just incredible. I carry a folding knife with me about 10 years and I am always upgranding my knife. I was going to post this in MT section, but I am more intersted in the answers of people that carry a knife over the MT, since the MT is a more complete tool. For more information go to I know a lot of threads discuss the uses of knives versus multitools, but I found none that has a pool. It is machined from solid bar stock that is sourced exclusively from North American mills and is RoHS3 and REACH compliant. SPC-18-18-F is made from 1215 lead-free steel with a proprietary black oxide finish that produces a fine glossy finish while increasing holding power and resisting corrosion. Tightly controlled bore tolerance of +.002"/+.0005" is maintained. Forged screws test beyond ANSI standards to ensure maximum holding power. It eliminates the need to treat screws upon receipt greatly reducing installation time. Proprietary Nypatch® anti-vibration coating on hardware allows for even seating of the screw, repeated screw installations, prevents galling, and maintains high holding power. SPC-18-18-F has opposing hardware for a balanced design. It has precision honed bores to ensure they are collinear and do not introduce misalignment or vibration into the system making it suitable for high precision servo appliactions as well as shaft to shaft connections.
